The Malaysian Association of Risk and Insurance Management (MARIM) is proud to organize the 2009 Risk Management Conference. This Biannual Conference is an exclusive, educational forum that brings together local experts in the field of risk management and insurance as well as representatives from the academic, to jointly discuss the strategies for measuring and managing risk in their organizations, and this year, specifically gearing towards strengthening corporate resilient. The conference includes a combination of formal presentations, case studies, panel discussions and academic research presentation on topics such as enterprise risk management and business continuity management. 

 

The impact from the recent financial meltdown clearly is one of the hottest business issues of the day. Managers now realize that mega companies are not shatterproof from corporate failures. We've learned from the collapse of Baring Bank and the crisis of AIG but yet became complacent of the strategies that we created. Given this fact as well as the challenges managers have faces in recent months, the theme for the 2009 Risk MAnagement Conference is Building Corporate Resilient via Effective ERM. As an association representing risk managers in Malaysia, the Malaysian Association of Risk and Insurance Management (MARIM) believe that the efforts in managing risk should be a priority to all organization. Thus, MARIM has taken the initiative to reward the individual or teams of individual who have demonstrate their perserverance and vigor in their organization's crisis management program in the Risk Management Award of Excellence (RMAoE) 2009

 

The RMAoE 2009 is sponsored by two leading insurance companies which is Jerneh Insurance Berhad and MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB). The award ceremony is held at a Gala Dinner on 16 June, in conjunction with the Risk Management Conference 2009.

 

The winner for this year award is the team from Business Continuity Unit, Telekom Malaysia. The winner  had received a laptop, a trophy and  a certificate of achievement.
