Membership Categories

Ordinary Membership

Any individual, proprietorship, firm, instituition or company engaged in the practice of risk management, acquisition of insurance and are not in conflict with the objectives of the Associations shall be eligible for election to ordinary membership. Membership, however shall not be open to any insurer or reinsurer, insurance or reinsurance intermediaries

Affiliation of Membership

Any individual, trade association or instituitions, insurer or reinsurer, insurance or reinsurance intermediary who are not in conflict with the objectives of the Association shall be eligible for election to affiliate membership

Student Membership

Any individual who has registered as a student at any college, instituition or university in Malaysia, shall be eligible for election to student membership

 

Members Benefits

 Benefits includes:

  • Participation in a wide range of educational lectures and seminars in the filed of Risk Management and Insurance,
  • Access to a network of Risk and Insurance managers and Associations locally and internationally,
  • Liaison with trade and professional associations to establish a network of contacts to enable risk managers to communicate their individual needs,
  • Wide communication with the Insurance Industry, Bank Negara, Government agencies and the business community through meetings which provide a conduit for members to express views on topical risk management and insurance issues,
  • Being represent, and therefore being able to partake, in legislative review or regulatory development affecting the risk management and insurance environment.

Voting Rights

Affiliate Member and Student Member shall not have any voting rigths.

Voting shall be by show of hands of those present and entitled to vote.

Corporate Ordinary Member and Individual Ordinary Member may require a vote to be taken by ballot in which case the allocation of votes is as follows:
